I read it a while back. And it’s good, but not great. I have issues with the way Katniss as a narrator is portrayed, and my favorite character is not Katniss or Peeta, which is problematic.

It just from experience I’ve found that when everyone jumps on something regardless of age or race or gender there’s generally something that’s just so…generic about it because it would have to be to reach such a wide range of differing tastes you know.  And I don’t like generic.  I like what I like - and not watered down versions of what I like that have been re-tooled for the masses.

It’s why I’m simultaneously excited for and dreading The Stupidest Angel movie because the book (by Christopher Moore) was ridiculous and insane and it was like this amazing fan wank crossover extravaganza bringing in like characters from three of his other novels and throwing them in this hilariously tragic situation.  But to make it a movie that everyone will enjoy and be able to understand I feel like they’re going to have to cut out a lot of the in-jokes and backstory and water the whole thing down until it’s just another Christmas Zombie movie.

Ugh don’t mind me, there’s just been a lot of Hunger Games on my dash today and I’m too lazy to savior it and I get tired of feeling like I’m being left out of this amazing club of awesome because I really don’t care to read the books or see the movie.
